Stinging Insects
True stinging insects belong to the order Hymenoptera, which includes ants, bees, wasps, yellow jackets, hornets, etc. The sting from these insects is a defense weapon formed from a modified ovipositor; thus, only females sting. Bees are extremely valuable for pollination and honey production. In addition, wasps kill many yard pests that are dwelling around your home. However, bees, wasps, yellow jackets, and hornets do become pests when nesting up to homes and buildings. Due to severe allergic reactions amongst humans, thousands of deaths are caused from the honey bee (Apis mellifera).
Treatment for Bees/Wasps
Bees and wasps are a specialized insect that not all pest control companies take care of. Lucky for you we take care of bee and wasp problems too. Bees are less aggressive during the morning hours; therefore, most bee appointments must be scheduled during these hours. A dusting powder substance, Drione, is used for the elimination of bees and wasps. We do remove the hive if it is accessible. If the bee hive is not accessible, for example, the hive is in the walls of the property, then additional charges may apply.
