House and Garden Pests

Arthropods ranging from  minute mites to large beetles live in  and around  every home. Grasshoppers, chinch bugs, sod webworms, and Japanese beetles are the major plant  pests found around the house and garden areas. Crickets (Acheta domesticus), earwigs (Forficula auricularia), and the House Spider (Achaearanea tepidariorum) are omnivorous, more mobile, and often invade homes. They are attracted to stored food and also eat textile and paper.
